Born and raised in Hanford, Dr. Koelewyn is thrilled to be back in the Central Valley to serve his local communities after completing his foot and ankle surgical training in New York and further specialty training in limb preservation at UCSF medical center in San Francisco. Dr. Koelewyn is licensed by the Podiatric Medical Board of California.
He completed his undergraduate degree at the University of California Berkeley with a Bachelor of Science degree in nutritional sciences.
He attended a four-year medical program at the California school of podiatric medicine in Oakland, CA. After graduating with a doctor of podiatric medicine degree he did one year of research coordination for studies mainly related to treating diabetic foot wounds.
He then completed a three-year foot and ankle surgical training program at Stony Brook University Hospital in Stony Brook, New York. His program also included training at the Veterans Affairs Medical Center in Northport, New York.
After his surgical residency, he did an intense specialty training year at UCSF Parnassus medical center in San Francisco. This training was in limb preservation. He was trained by very prominent podiatrists and vascular surgeons in the latest surgical techniques, technologies, and approaches to the preservation of the foot, ankle, and leg in the setting of wounds, infection, and/or vascular disease.

We also accept non-insured cash-pay patients. New patient rate is $125 for the initial consult and $100 for each consult after the first. Charges will vary depending on the type of diagnosis and amount of time spent with the physician.
